All of my works encompass themes such as nudity, purification, eeriness, and collective consciousness. The use of clothing—wearing, aging, soiling, removing, and washing—can evoke various memories and even bring about an experience of confronting oneself.
Discarded clothes scattered around may evoke states of undressing, nakedness, and vulnerability. Clothes are like our memories; they are washed clean and can initiate a process of healing.
In Sufism, there is a belief in the memory of water. According to this belief, water holds a healing power. It is also a purifier and cleanser. Another form connected to water and used in my work is the fish. In Celtic mythology, it is believed that consuming fish grants wisdom. Thus, the fish serves as a symbolic carrier of knowledge.
Water appears as a common element throughout my works. As mentioned above, water carries various meanings and, in my practice, can be associated with concepts such as rebirth, healing, and purification.
